"Say no more. Show me one person who has claimed drugs made their dick bigger"
Thats funny.. that rich and fugly porn guy..ron jeremy i think... he has an infomercial about a drug tat enlarges penis... funny...
the thing about to lcds is.. if you are into moving graphics, their refresh time is slower then most crts ( crts take couples milliseconds ... the newer LCDs are around 12-14 ms... if I recall corecctly) stuff that doesnt move like webraphics is fine but there is still a recognizable difference when it comes to moving graphics... its getting better on LCD s now but still not quite there.. remember the old laptops? when you move the cursor it will trail behind..like that but now its less recognizeble... there is another technology called OLED (organic light emiiting display) which is very cool but still made in samll quantities ( they just started amking them for cell phones, small screen pcs, etc) the cool thing about them is you can bend them and they dont require a backlight so they are more efficent then LCDs.. you can out them on curved walls, coffee mugs etc. but its gonna be a while till its going to be widely available like lcds..
here is some blurb:
"Toshiba says the new displays, using organic light-emitting diodes, are expected to replace today's common liquid crystal display (LCD) screens because they can provide brighter images at a lower cost.
"At some point in the future, OLEDs will be less expensive, brighter, thinner and provide a better display than LCDs, because they don't require a backlight," Barry Young, an analyst with DisplaySearch in Austin, Texas, told NewsFactor Network.
Organic displays use a material with self-luminous properties, eliminating the requirement for a power-hungry backlight. Backlighting is used in most current LCDs to improve brightness, but it adds costs, weight and thickness.
"The big advantage over current LCDs is that the picture is just as sharp from different angles; there's no big difference, no matter what angle you're viewing it from," Young noted.
Life Spans Limited
Current manufacturing yields for organic displays have been inconsistent and the life spans are short -- about 5,000 hours at present, said Young. "That will improve in the future, but for right now that will limit their use to low-resolution devices such as cell phones and handheld devices," he added.
Young said that the OLED displays will be about 20 percent cheaper than current screens when mass-produced. "They use fewer materials and require fewer manufacturing steps than LCD screens."
While the OLED displays will be cheaper, brighter and give a more readable screen, they won't save much on battery power, Young said. "The active matrix versions will use about the same amount of power as current LCD screens, and the passive matrix will actually use more," he said.
Other Makers Involved
Toshiba is not the only manufacturer pursuing OLED technologies. Others include Sony, Philips Electronics, Sanyo, Kodak, TDK and Samsung.
However, all the OLEDs in use to date are monocolor or area-color and use small molecules in the light-emitting organic film rather than polymers. The implication is that they require vacuum-evaporation technology in the production process, which is unsuitable for mass production.
OLED displays data via an organic light-emitting diode, with the pixels formed on a thin film transistor array. The display itself emits light and has no need of the backlight required by LCDs. "

still long ways away..
my point was. i am not payng shitload of money on something because it looks cool... i would like to have a LCD screen not just yet... maybe when the prices drop to CRT level... I can get a 21" flat square CRT for under 300 and thats a quality brand like the sony trinitron or mitsubishi ones..
about cars.. no one would buy an aston martin because it goes fast, because you can race them , Because they are bot good for racing ( seen any aston martins in racing? ) it just shows how fat your wallet is or how small your penis is... 2 1/2 ".. thats amazing.... Mclaren f1 LM thats a whole another story.. but a real drivers car is a lotus elise, fast and agile and kinda affordable..
what this had to do anything with this post.. i dont know.
