Who else. But it feels great to have uploaded a track again after a long time. The track is called "910 2 911". The very end of the track is 911. Hope you enjoy it and let me know, if you feel so inclined.

Great stuff.. very musical, good sounds, one of the best thing I've heard on DT. I love the synth riff that sound like hysterical laughter (well it does on my crappy headphones anyway). My only criticism might be that it's a bit too hectic..could do with thinning out a bit here and there, but I'd like to hear it in hifi before saying that for certain. Give us some more.

Thanks for listening and for your input Deano. It's right on the edge at moments for sure.

The intro was difficult for me, but once more parts to the tune kicked in it really started to move me. Those chirpy laughy sounds are cool.

You talked about your classical training in a long-ago thread. Who was it you studied with?

tight track that man. Reminded me of voodoo ray for some reason, not that it sounds like it but its sort of on that tip, bouncy vibes sort of thing.

Thanks gents. I studied classical Indian but initially western classical. You know, theory and stuff in school and privately. Funny, I like the intro but that's cuz it's kind of Orbitalesque I think.

Influx, hang in there. You'll get it :P and btw I've listened to Traveller lots in the last couple of weeks. Awesome track.

Steve, deprived as I am I don't know Voodoo Ray. I have a feeling I should. You've mentioned Voodoo Ray before I think?

Maarten, glad you like it. Thanks man.

He`s on studio K7 man, finally making some money out of music, did a pretty sweet LP last year.

Poor bugger wrote voodoo ray and took a one-off payment of 200 quid for it to buy a new drum machine. So while the track was going top 20 and raking the money in for the label, he was still flipping burgers in mcdonalds. He wrote most of pacific state for 808 state also and never got paid or credited for it either. I think "get everything in writing" is the lesson to be learnt.

Xoxos, ya gotta try again. Sheesh. Shouldn't complain though. I remember when DT users were much worse. There were a couple of real winners here. One went by the name of Zwolf the Elf. And then there was some R-Tek dude. I mean come on. Get a log on name. Talk about a couple of jack-aliases.

MARK!

really nice on the whole forward moving tip.. depeche/progressive/evolutionary.. that sound that comes in at 1:03 is just all smiles.. the tip toppity peaking peak of it.. and the pad's like ultra caffeine giddyness without the thralldom..

and.. and.. the horrible emptiness of the call at the end.. like a lonely modem calling into space.. "won't you INFORMATION with me?" unanswered.. ..so encapsulated for our consideration, the utter brilliance thereof..

what a grasp of the medium! i hope i can say 'message understood.'

as far as a dance track, i guess people would love it, but i was reminded of lord of acid's 'i sit on acid' which everybody loved but me because they have these long breaks w/ no beat every 8 measures >  but if you cranked it up, i think i'd have to challenge my impressions. no, wait.. those breaks are so everyone will stand around and look at all the people and be friendly.. and i can't like people if they're there..

..if you can, well, bless your cotton socks, keep 'em good, and SO NOW YOU'VE GOT THE TRACK ARE YOU GONNA SEE PEOPLE DANCE TO THAT ONE?

HUH?

I was wondering who your main teacher was, b/c I remember your mentioning one of the numerous Khans, and I've heard some of them in person recently. I knew he played sitar, influx you goofball!

Gotta make this quick...at work.

Xoxos, love ya dude, in the plutonic sense of course. Later.

Marianimal, Ustad Imrat Hussein Khan...brother of Ustad Vilayat Khan, father of Nishat, Irshad, Vajahat, and Shafaat Ahmed Khan. Shujaat Khan is his nephew. If you've heard any of those Khans it's the family I studied under, mainly Ustad Imrat Khan.

That was quick???

Yeah, Shujaat was the one I saw. Amazing, what can I say. And I have some good CDs of Vilayat.

I'm listening to the "buddhas" track now and really enjoying it.

Yeah, "voodoo ray"'s cool as hell.

Yea Shujaat is awesome. If you can get your hands on Vilayat's earlier recording of Ragas Puriya and Alhiya Bilaval, or his earlier recording of Darbari Kanada, or a recording with Vilayat and Imrat called "A Night at the Taj", go for them. Anything by Nishat or Irshad as well.

Damballah, I'm at work. Will check first thing tomorrow.

Cool stuff sitar. Real nice production,
especially at the end where the beat drops
out.

right on sitar, I really like the rapid changes. as always, listening quietly at work, but its sounds like some cool desi (sp? "day-see") techno. I really like the end too, wehn the beat drops out.

sitar--did you see shujaat khan at hunter college last month?

black secret technology--great album. "cause I'm a rainbow"...

Very nice. I'm surprised nobody else but you mentioned Orbital. That's the first name that came to mind when I listened.

I didn't really think it sounded like "I Sit On Acid". <-- is an awesome classic. The Lords rule!

Didn't see Shujaat. I've been out of the loop with Indian music for a few years. I've sat in on one of his recording sessions. I wasn't playing but sitting there 12 feet away. For Nishat too. Nishat I've sat face to face with playing together...trying to keep up that is.

Thanks guys. Yes Orbital. I'm gonna update this track over the weekend. Have put in some pretty nifty short little breakpoints.
