I am a computer tech and over the years have repaired and calibrated many 3.5" floppy drives.
Now I have a MC300 which I purchased from second hand shop to repair a friend's MC500 which had faulty drive. I have tried at least 15 different types and makes of drive including Panasonic which was original drive on MC300. No joy at all.
Has anyone out there ever managed to install standard PC drive in MC300/500? There must be a signal or setting which the MC is looking for at boot-up. Don't want to just scrap the MC300, after reading these reviews it is obviously still much in use all over the world. I am in Cape Town, South Africa.
Thank you,
L
