Hi all,

Im getting towards the latter stages of my first effort of a track but Im a little stuck/confused.

Im happy with a couple of my midi channel tracks so I thought it was time to convert them to audio to apply EQ, compression etc etc. So...

...from what I understand all tracks within a project should be mono because most club systems are mono? (Not that this tune will ever get played in a club but Im starting as I mean to go on!) But when I converted my midi tracks (which were playing various things from my synth to mono audio tracks they just sound shit and all the life has been taken out of them.

Have I understood the concept incorrectly? Is it OK to have stereo audio tracks in your project?

Ive tried to keep most things mono like kick, percussion, bassline but Ive stumbled on this part that is fundamental to the tune but just spoils it when its mono. What's the way to do it?

Any help greatly appreciated, Joe

no, just keep things like ther kick and bass in mono... remember also bass has no directional characteristics so a stereo feild isnt required. Just checking your mixes in mono should be enuff, but things can dissapear when you do that yes

I had an idea for a script once. It's basically Jaws except when the guys in the boat are going after Jaws, they look around and there's an even bigger Jaws. The guys have to team up with Jaws to get Bigger Jaws.... I call it... Big Jaws!!!
