Got my first solder iron burn

But managed to get the mains of that TX81Z down to 18", from it's former 8 '. grommet gave me a bit of trouble but i managed to fit it in there. lovely.

Ya know, you always have to heat up the metal parts first and then add the tin to them, not to the soldering iron tip! And wet that damn sponge!

(Oh, how I hated when we used to do this in school and the teacher just HAD to say this shit again and again... )

I'm getting the hang of it, especially now that i realise you have to re-tin the tip often, duh.

I wished they'd teached that in my school, instead of art class.

I had an idea for a script once. It's basically Jaws except when the guys in the boat are going after Jaws, they look around and there's an even bigger Jaws. The guys have to team up with Jaws to get Bigger Jaws.... I call it... Big Jaws!!!

Oh yeah, the joy of PCB design... thinking about where to place the components... making the circuit, soldering the whole thing together... weeks of preparation and labour... burned hands...
the first moments when you connect the DC voltage... set up the oscilloscope...

and it ain't bloody working!

People involved with synthesizers hardly understand how one can loathe even the word "transistor" the way I do.
