they are not all _the same_ but most, like the supernova, are based on subtractive synthesis, and the general principles are the same
it really might do you a bit of good to search out some synth programming books or the like.
or, another way to learn is to deconstruct a patch (also called a preset or sometimes program) and see what makes it tick...
but its basically just oscillators, envelopes, filters, LFOs and amp output.
give it time. its definitely not something that comes to you immediately, and the SN isnt exactly a "simple" synth (not that it cant be programmed simply)
