seeking advice from anyone who has modded the tape return / bus outputs from the factory -10dBu to +4dBu.
having just upgraded from a digidesign 001, the new 002R is a +4 output. also, the mod would help in attaining sufficient controlled level through the A/D converters.
i have the owners manual and the mod seems pretty straightforward.
any tips from you'se out there?

oh god, not another one...

A cheaper option might be an external box to interface between your busses/ins and outs/returns... something like a Line Level Shifter. Internal mods are often proprietary and expensive.

And togo.... so you gonna make try to make things a bit more interesting around here are ya? How original.

dude - the studiomasters have an internal switcher to swap the levels dont they ? (cant root out the manual just now). You just open it up and change the jumper (so to speak) - I've never done it tho on my Mixdown Gold cos I'm running into a -10 rack

I had an idea for a script once. It's basically Jaws except when the guys in the boat are going after Jaws, they look around and there's an even bigger Jaws. The guys have to team up with Jaws to get Bigger Jaws.... I call it... Big Jaws!!!
