this is something i discovered recently that may be of help to others.

i've had a couple of files which....when later trying to open them....just would not open. i'd get amessage saying there was not enough memory. one file was not much more than an eight-bar loop of only 4 instruments and some effects so it was a mystery as to how such a file could be so large as to be unopenable.

i tried increasing the memory size but that did not work either.

but what i found does work is to simply open reason as a new song...then go to open....and select the song. it's worked for me with both tracks that gave me trouble.
