How much can I expect to pay for a scsi card these days and what speed do I need for transfer to and from an A3000? Are there any other specs I need to know besides the standard 20 pin connector? AT least, I think it's 20 pin.

get the cheapest scsi card you can get if you're only using it for the yamaha. It's as slow as it gets for scsi transfers anyway. A $50 card should sort you. But yeah, check the cabling... and geographical location. SCSI cables are notoriously short and expensive.
