been messing around with a demo of koan pro for the pc which creates generative music, there are hundreds of parameters to create slight changes in sounds, scales, pitch whatever you want. You can use mp3 files for sound sources or it sends midi. It's basically constantly changing music everytime you hit play it comes up with different music from your parameters.
Brian Eno already has a new album out based on this system which comes on floppy disk so everytime you put it on it's different.

Is generative music the way forward ?
