actually just playing a x0x kick at a lower octave, while deep, isn't half as interesting as "actually" timestretching it. You kinda need a sampler or SW audio editor. If you use the timestretch function and stretch, say an 808 kick by 300-400% you get all kinds of artifacts and natural phazing that creates a lot more texture than simply playing the kick pitched down!
