posted before in wrong forum, sorry.

How do you record a non-general midi synth sound to audio (wav, rm, mp3 whatever) and make it sound just like what I hear coming from the synth? Obviously, general midi sounds work, but how do you record a non GM sound?

I have a roland xp-80 workstation and a santa cruz soundcard, and sonar 1.3? DO I need anything else?

Plug the synth's output into the sound card. Arm an audio track in Sonar. Hit record.
