was at the local GC the other day... talking to someone in the synth department and they mentioned that akai is readying a replacement for the mpc2000xl...
apparently its a stripped down version of the new 4000... also using the new "Z" series engine. he didnt have any specs on it but i would imagine it would just be like the 4000 but without all the awesome features (and of course a smaller case!) but man, that would be cool... anyone else heard about this thing?
