and when you say i feel sad
that my eyes are burned out gray
spinning fairy tales of yesterday

but there's just some things i can't relate..

my heart is so blue
only to be true
why is life too cruel?
fires fight the fuel

...it's the fickle twist of fate
it's a magic heart that never breaks
it's a tragic part we play
oh don't tell me that you can't relate
...it's the vagaries of space
everything that's lost without a trace
it's the first step that you take
