RE: A3000 defrag?
Pongoid - with a drive that size, you could maybe clear up some bits by reformating a partition at a time and "shuffling" your samples to other partitions. I dunna think A3Kdisky can do anything but format and partition... I actually only use it to make backup CD images of me volumes and such... Still a pain in the ass any way you look at it. I doubt you could use the defrag in Windows or on a MAC (by hooking up your SCSI to your 'puti) as I'm pretty sure Yammy uses their own proprietary file system based on a DOS idea....
I've had similar probs with my A3k corrupting files, and since I dunna really use all that many samples, I just shuffled me bits to an empty partition and reformated the "problem" partition. That seemed to take care of the file corruption problem...
Actually, I haven't had the problem since I upgraded to the Version2 chip, but there again, I really dunna use my A3k all that much. It's generally waaaaay overkill for my needs live (and the fucker dunna fit into most racks neatly), and in the studio I tend to use the PC to do me "sampler" type work....
Peace
