...break my day. Or that's the title of a new track I uploaded. It's got breaks. Sounds a bit Prodigy-esque in parts. Final mix was done in a flash cuz time was running out so give me a little slack. Comments appreciated. thanks.

this is great. i really like the little lull in the action around 2:00 and the one around 5:00. really like the breakdown thing at 3:00. the melody in the background around 3:45 is nice, but is taken over by the drums & bass, probably its just the mp3 quality tho. i wanna hear a hi-fi version.

so you went from sounding like orbital to sounding like The Orb

its cool, man. A lot darker than what I would expect from such a happygolucky fella such as yourself, but...

cant say the mix sounds right, because it doesnt. Id be willing to bet that its due to conversion and not lack of attention, but...

overall...pretty cool, man. The first minute or so when it kept breaking down every other measure..I wasnt too into that. Seemed to interrupt the flow (perhaps do that more toward the middle?)

not telling you how to write your own tracks though. VERY crunch sound to this one, man.

I like what youre doin, sitar. now go off and show it to some labels, wouldya?

Thanks for the listen and words. The mix wasn't so much the conversion although that's what sent it completely over the edge. I was down to about an hour to record the audio/midi tune to my cd burner. Record it back to Sonar, plug in the mixing/mastering software, encode and upload to dt. Ass backwards way of doing it but in a pinch it's quicker. I didn't listen through half of it cuz I had to eat as well. So it was kind of a hail mary mix. I should save a "hail mary" preset for these occasions. I'll redo it next weekend, my next opportunity.

Labels, like I said, there's my friend's friend waiting for me to send him something. He must be wondering by now. Working on it.

Wish I would've known. I could done with just 30 seconds of music and had enough time to master properly. Mine loops too.

sitar! you're pushing the mastering compression too much. when the sub bass line kicks in everything else goes quiet. go subtle, innit.

i likes the your sounds though. oohh your levels are jumpin, not like your usual. jeez, mix this right and you'll have a blinder.

nasty.

Thanks Bedwyr. I know. Like I said, I wasn't listening as I went through the motions. But yes I'll remix this sucker. It's packed with energy I think. Track like Ovaltine.

cool track sitar. the stop-and-go ation in the begining reminds me not so much of orb, but of that fsol breaks track, very nasty! (i know its not polite to compare people to others, the comparison just came to my mind).

i bet itīll be a really kick ass track when you polish it.

re-mix this sucker. i like that

Thanks Milan and Woxy. After you mentioned it Milan it does sound a bit like FSOL which is nice.

Influx, I never really listened to the Orb. I have one of their cds tucked away somewhere. Will have to listen. And I'll mix it myself thank you :P Heaven knows I have enough tools to do a good mix now. Of course if anyone can take this track and make it sound like elevator music, it's moi. This weekend it'll be back up.

Rock and Roll Woxy

there's that progressive thing i meant.. except you just do it with your phrasing and structure.. stop using that horrid emu box thing and use something you can reach your mind into and make do anything from one second to the next,

no, i'm not talking to you :p

I didn't use the horrid EMU thing which isn't horrid at all anyway. It's orange and it's beautiful. The bass, pad, the crash cymbol, a noise, and I think that is it is all Supernova just doin it's thing with my loving touch. The rest are drum samples I gathered, mangled a bit, and cut and paste together in Sonar.

Cool Influx. Let me do a remix this weekend. Probably by Sunday I'll have it done. How can I get it to you? Would a zip disk be usable. I'll email you from your profile right now. If for some reason you don't receive my email, email me from my profile at the top of the thread.

Matter of fact Xoxos, look at the icons to the right of DANCETECH. They match up very well with my XL-1. The orange on the XL-1 is a little shinier/metallic but it has black knobs just like the icons. "DON'T FORGET TO INCLUDE YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS IF YOU WANT ANY MAIL REPLIES !!" under "Submit Message" sets it off nicely too. Max color coordination in the studio is the final frontier.
