ok, i've d/l some akai programs and want to use them with exs24 in logic. thing is exs24 and the sample converting apps i've seen only read akai CDs. i've got the .AKM and .AKP files along with the coressponding wavs. i doubt that i can just put these on a cd, coz akai probably has it's own cd format, right?

exs24 can read soundfont & samplcell? formats which i guess is not off cd only.

can i do it?

Your Akai samples sound like they're S5000/S6000 files, correct? I think the Akai support in the EXS24 is for S2000/S3000 CD-ROMs. The S5k and S6k use standard PC-style CD-ROMs and wav files. If you don't have too much in the program (like a drum loop or something) then just import the wavs.

if you're setting up programs for certain uh korean instruments and stuff i've made a few days worth of headway.. the progs are pretty fucked up.. loads of the samples are detuned by arbitrary numbers of semitones, half and quarter semitones, it gets weirder from there. i can upload .s3p files if anyone's looknig. i don't fancy transcribing the whole lot to text, but let me know if you've got any choice requests bedwyr. i can't dump jpgs.

i get the feeling somebody doesn't want anyone doing this.
