i was using it for a bit when i had access to one. its not half bad.

it cant really get a MD421 to sound like a U87, but it makes a decent attemp at it. if you use it more realisticaly, e.g. trying to get a dynamic mic to sound like another dynamic mic, or a C414 ULS to sound like a C414 TLII, it can do a pretty good job with all the parameters on offer.

i like its variable tube saturation a lot though, and have used it to give a warmer sound to the tracks recorded with cheaper microphones, and it did this quite nicely.

all in all, an interesting bit of gear. worth checking out.

i like it, but i use it as a kind of random eq thing as well. i just try out different presets on any sound and see what comes out. definately makes an sm58 sound better, fuller, ..er etc. you can get addon mics for it too.

theyve just done a deal with the dsp card fx people to put 'autotune' into the dsp range... UAD-1 card from Universal Audio - interestingly, Universal Audio are managed by the same PR company stateside as Propellerheads ..hmmm

I had an idea for a script once. It's basically Jaws except when the guys in the boat are going after Jaws, they look around and there's an even bigger Jaws. The guys have to team up with Jaws to get Bigger Jaws.... I call it... Big Jaws!!!
