RE: djT's
oh i was going to wait for a reply but i'll hit you with it now..
having done production for a number of people ver the last year, i wager you're probably questioning whether you should do it again. you probably.. liked making the guy happy, like to help, and there's the prospect of combined talents, profit.. (well plus it's always good to actually see someone else do something for a change..)
imho it's not bad, but isn't polished. the guy's freehand timing is fairly good, has a nice feel for harmonies, and has potential as a vocalist.. could be pleasant to listen to, but a bit self indulgent in addition to the confidence/proficiency thing.. or as a way of making up for.. imho of course.
unless you really believe this person has what it takes *and* the drive to make it happen regardless of your input, i really recommend some greater personal satisfaction for you. that spotlight belongs to you really (based on your tunes)
you mentioned your crappy kit recently.. if it's so crappy, anyone who cared enough would seek to similarly accoutre themselves.
the drums are nice. to me, the strongest part of djT's performance is the piano at the end.. that is solid and makes the relatively weak earlier pitched content more pleasant in memory.
giving you more than you asked for. this is about you, isn't it??
