i liked the sound in 'doppler' more. i don't know detriot for squat beyond aux88 (freak thing.. that techno/electro track demanded attention) i couldn't name or hum a derrick may tune to save my life.. from that perspective, 'simplicity' was way too stripped for my taste. might come across better in hifi but the main thing was the "3 or 7 measures then solo a part" pattern was more predictable than exciting. perhaps if the next measure came in with a bang or crash to help push it along, build energy.
i'm not familiar with all the pieces of gear you list so again no clue what i'm talking about, but perhaps a sampler or multitracking would give you the liberty to add a few such teaser sounds here and there.
