the only way to do that...to get it to 4.x OS is to have Emu or a tech do it (of course, this is what THEY say)

but...the worst part is that the upgrade costs $300 US as opposed to $90 US for the rack version. lame

I know-upgrade is no free. I don't know (sorry-reason of this problem see in early message)-UPGRADE IS SOFTWARE's OR HARDWARE's. 'Cos if it's soft** - problem seems like ..., if hardware - will search ... and find.Thanxx.

oh..ok..well...

go to the website, because..if you have the proper amount of Flash RAM then its just a software thing.

odds are that you dont and would have to get the HW upgrade from Emu...

software upgrade is free download, but it requires 2 megs of system memory, and the non ultrta's , except the e4k shipped with only 1 meg. You click on the system button then the utilities, then configuration. If CPU is only 1 meg , you need to buy the cpu memory upgrade, but it's better this way it should come with a manual update and the actual diskettes.

you know how to find out?

back up your system SW..or if you have your most recent disk, cool

DL the 4.1 file from Emu...do what they say to prep it, then pop that floppy in there and fire up your E4.

itll ask if you want to load the OS from disk...say yes...finish that and if it works, then you know you should be fine

that 4 megs SHOUld be the proper amount
