I really colud use tips about how to create a good and proffessional sounding breakbeat or just drumbeat in general. I seem to have missed something very basic. My beats always sound plain and simple.

Which kits are good for breaks?

I also need tips on trancelike stuff. What do I have to think about? I don't know how to create variations with hihats and things.

Feeling kind of stuck right now. No point in making neat sounding synth lines if the drums sound crappy right? So I would appreciate any tips or advice!
