amen again
Aight, I use the hell out of the amen break. I just cant help it, it makes for an awesome drop in jungle tracks, and tweaking the cutoff on an LPF that its feeding through sounds SOOOO good (ala that remix of dub plate pressure with the KRS1 samples). And it is so easy to cut up...enough..
Ok, my actual question is does anyone know how the hell they made a break that harsh sounding? did they fill the drums with broken glass? I imagine heavy compression is part of it. I would like to figure out how to get that same sound on my own breaks (without just continuing to use the amen break). I understand that this may be hard without using a real drum set. Any ideas?
