1. Yes.
2. Yes, the reseting of the soundback
is fixed in Rom ver 1.13.
3. Try this yourself, go to a shop w\
an RM1x, press the Pattern button twice,
and you get a window showing
which 'phrase' is playing on which
'track'.
Sections, Tracks and Phrases are all a bit of a mindfunk but it will click.
I seriously recommend doing this, because - playing live, this will
be the window you will use most!
4. As said, you get used to it.
After the mild mindfunk, however typical
to Yamaha gear, everything is
is two button clicks away, as
on Roland gear its usually one but,
the RM is more powerfull live.
5. If you hear stuff about it resetting
voices on other gear, it maybe the bug
in ROM ver 1.12, you get a free chip
shipped to you from Yamaha for 1.13.
6. Agree with above, appending phrases,
spliting phrases, etc... does get
annoying but you get very used to this
box.
The sounds could be better,
but with a sampler your laughing.
Basically check the window when
you press the Pattern button twice,
this is where the RM1x really shines
- you can mix drum beats in and out,
- mix a new lead synth in,
then mix an old one out.
This is why its given the cheezy name 'Sequence Remixer'.
Hope this helps,
