Does anyone have any views on these two filter/manglers??
I'm looking for something to twist and dirty my sounds (mainly for techno) and I've heard that the Sherman filterbank is the thing to go for. However the Electrix filterfactory is also supposed to be good and benefits from full MIDI implementation. I'd really like toi know which sounds best and whether the MIDI aspect (ie recording knob movements is worth going for the filterfactory)??

I'm in the same situation and I think the sherman filterbank is the most kickass option if you have money to spend. Unfortunately I don't so I'll have to settle for something more cost effective. I'm considering WARP 9 by "music and more". It's a cheap analogue 12db filter with lo/hi/band/notch MIDI controllable filter (+presets!!) and distortion. It's really cheap too about half the price of a sherman. I also considered The waldorf 4-pole but I guess it's only lowpass 24db and I dont like 24db filters too much since they sound so smooth.

Oh yeah and I didn't like the electrix.. seems too techno dj hyped/advertised stuff to be any good. might be wrong tho.. Check the MAM website they have also some wierd stuff like vocoder and a 3 band pass filter module too ..great for spicing up dull sounding digital synths.
