Pretty mutch all guitar effects sound better with percussion or synths running through them.

Better than stairway to friggin heaven anyway.

erm.. sorry, that wasn't an answer..

I am thinking persons who do not like the Guitar resent the talent of the player.

dont go there for Gods sake.. well, some of the amp simms are used by DSP farm for protools... i think the other fx maybe good too... all you can do is get a decent demo... depends WHY you want it, and what FX you want to achieve - tell us what FX you think it'll get you that make it a choice for you

I've played with these things... You'd be better of with something else for synths. These things are mostly amp simulators, designed to help home studio users get a house full of classic guitar sounds on tape reasonably well... They fail at exactly recreating those tones anyway (nothing like a REAL Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier in your face, or a Marshall JCM-800, but I digress...)

I think maybe you'd be better off with like, an Alesis MIDIverb or a Zoom 1204 plus a distortion pedal...

Oh, and Kilo's right, it's the same technology by the same people as the Amp Farm plugin for Pro Tools... Most of the simulations in the Amp Farm are available in the POD.

I think it's a good choice for recording guitars, but not for outboard synth FX.
