I've been doin this for a while now , as well as weird turntablism stuff like christian marclay /philip jeck , but can no-input mixin bust up my mixer? im usin a spirit by soundcraft folio notepad , and usually record onto minidisc and then put the good stuff onto pc.
you can squeeze cool sounds out of it , but id dont want to be gettin
good sounds at the expense of my equipment.
anyone have any thoughts on this ? ( apart from that im a cheap bastard who cant be bothered buying proper gear!)

There have been other threads along
these lines, and from what I've read
you should avoid it, unless you don't
care about your mixer.

Peaceout,

Peter

WHAT? If you're not mixing stuff from inputs, what the hell are you mixing? The mixer's noise floor?

If you patch the output of the mixer into a live channel you've got lotsa noise ;). Feedback mixing.

Plug the outs to the ins , turn down the volume , twist all the knobs and wahey , weird sounds and rhythms galore!
i think it may fry a condenser or something but im not sure.
anyway , what do you expect , i do dub and industrialy stuff ,
i like plugging everything in the wrong way to see what happens!

hey! you'll just love dephasing one of your speakers then...

really crank up the bass ok?

btw - only do this if you want to cone (and render it useless) your speaker.
