hey kids....

I'm trying to write the next dnb dancefloor stormer, and I could use some comments about EQ'ing the low end...

I have the kick drum, a deep sub-bass sort of layering/following the kick, and then another distorted bass high-passed for that acid sound...

what about the EQ'ing to make room for the sub and the kick?
since this is dancefloor stuff, that's about all you hear, so I need to get it height and tight.

EQ cut some of the sub-bass to make room for the kick?
or carve out some of the kick to make room for the bass?

take the bass of the kick - a lot of dnb has a very subliminal kick anyways or try layering a bandpassed snare over the kick and then compressing it and cutting some lo-eq to give it more impact. Try not to add too much bass to the bass anyways - try and geddit sounding as ruff as possible without even touching the eq.
