Hi every one at Dancetech !

Just a question to know if anybody knows the trick to display the Yamaha's O1V Mixer's OS version.
I have an early unit that doesn't seem to manage very well midi panic (all reset) messages. Channel 7 and 10 faders goes up and channels 9, 11 and 12 gets their pan full left !!!
Their is No midi loop and this actually happens with any type of midi sequencer or hardware sequencers.
Is their anybody out their who's got the same problem or is my unit really bugged ? Do Yamaha get OS updates for that mixer ?
Thanks for helping and keep on making Goood Music...

I thinkl I have the same problem, ie. when I turn local control off the Oiv doesn't send data and the faders don't respond.

I also have the problem with Midi remote page when controlling another iece of kit as the oiv's faders keep changing the CC assignments for the previous fader that was adjusted.

damn! i thought i was the only one who had problems! in cubase, if there is a track assaigned to the 01v and i select it, channel 1 drops to zero! pisses me off all the time. and when i hit stop, channel 9 pans far left.

i don't know how to display the o.s., but i'm going to research this and see if there are any updates.

Glad to know that Cubase bugs out too... I'm experiencing problemes with Cakewalk and the hardware reset of My Opcode 8port/SE Midi patch. Seems that the O1V goes wrong time to time but I've never seem people complain about it. Is it an early model too (i.e. early 1998) ? I'm working out here in France to get more info direct from Yamaha just to display the OS Version and to seek out an upgrade (if it exists.....)

Good search to all of you.

try SAMM o1v control s/w from IQS (sawplus people) - you can d/load a demo and clock it to your sequencer to try it-

Ive had my 01v for 6 weeks and had to wait for a month before that and got mine straight from the factory. i have had no problems at all with the automation, so its a safe bet the os is different from yours. how old are your 01vs? im using cubase vst score 3.5 on a p200 (yes v slow) and a midi man interface

Hi all dancetech folks !!!

I've opened O1V to get a look a a Rom version n° or some kind of socketed chip that could contain a exchangeable OS, and..... Nothing, no ROM's, only a bunch of soldered chips and no sign of any OS version marked on any of them.... Sight ! IS THERE ANYONE OUT THERE WHO KNOWS HOW TO DISPLAY THE O1V's OS VERSION ???

I'm getting despaired and seems that a bunch of folks like me down in France has got that "Midi Reset Message Problem" and all had bought early O1V's. Some swapped them back against later models and seem to have no problem anymore. I'm going to get real hard with Yamaha if they can't find a solution quick (if their is any....).

Please keep on helping and hope to read you soon !

On mine, the fader on channel 7 jumps to 0dB whenever I change the MIDI channel of the selected track on my MPC from 'B' to 'A'. The O1V is on the B output.

A small bug but I can live with it - just have to keep and eye on the fader. The funny thing is, when the fader mode is set to something other than the regular channels (auxes or something) it doesn't happen - and switching back to the 'home' mode shows that the fader has not been moved surrogately.

Weird, but manageable. It reminds you that the thing is just a specialised computer, dread to think what would happen if it were to crash in the middle of a mix...

the reason why the oiv doesnt change when set to a different page eg aux is because they the controllers for aux etc are different, if you reassigned the controllers the same thing would happen,
