My brother and I have had a Tascam M-3700 24 channel desk for a couple of years now.
It has VCA automation, but we've never hooked it up to midi.
I would like to eliminate noise from the signal and our next move is obviously to make up better cables. However, the midi muting would certainly keep those idle channels quiet. Has anybody ever hooked this desk up to midi? We didn't get a manual with the desk and would appreciate any help or suggestions as to how we could improve our sound.

BTW, we intend releasing a dance track in the New Year (We're fom Dublin, Ireland) and have done all of the work to date in our home studio. Even though we'll take it to a top studio to master it, it would be nice to get the best out of our equipment in the meantime.
