I'm trying to get Cubase VST/24 4.0 to run with no luck. Heck, I can't even get the start up song to play. (The sound cuts in and out, even if I only try to play one track.)

I think my system checks out: Motorola StarMax 5500/200, PowerPC 604e running at 200Mhz, 128 MB RAM, 256KB Level 2 cache, and 2Gig hard drive. Not mighty, but not bad.

I have been advised by another Cubasist that an external hard drive will cure my ills, but that's an expensive experiment. I will confess to not having read every line in the manual, but I have been over the Optimizing Performance section in detail. Is there something else I'm missing?

Any help will make me happy, even if it's bad news.

Thanks.

Irina
