i was told today from a Noo Yorker that he called yamaha and was told it's only going to be released in europe and the far east not the USA ?.... is this true ??

I dunno. I bought one from B&H Photo. Sweetwater has them. I'm in an isolated area that lacks a Yamaha dealer.

I paid $719 from B&H. Seemed like a good price...

Sweetwater does have them for $699. The AX breakout is another $300 after discount.
