My awe64 really struggles to start songs with audio, and every time i do a session i can count on that the waveoutput will completely stop, when i try to restart the machine hangs, and i have to push reset. After booting it works for a while...

Anything in familiar, mail here or me at jonha@foss.vgs.no

Try turning off Full Duplex. When the card is at half duplex it is fine

I left my soundcard on Full Duplex while using Cakewalk and there was no problem, you might want to your settings.

removed fullduplex, and it seems fine. Yuppi!! The directX
driver didn't work properly in rebirth, but changed to mme and it works. Atleast..

I had the same problem. As soon as I got the latest drivers it was OK. So check how recent your drivers are.

Just got Cakewalk 7. It syncs like a dream compared to 6, even with full duplex. A definite upgrade!!

Just one problem I have with Cakewalk 7. If you use the soundfont option it's supposed to automatically load and send patch info to Cakewalk but it doesn't for me. How do I access soundfonts using cakewalk?
