One of the main motivations for getting this piece of gear was for the 16 step resolution. I initially thought that no matter what 16 step sequencer you used (ER-1, MC-303, RM1x, etc...) it had the same resolution, ie. the duration of a 16th note was the same for all devices. Consequently, this is not the case for the TR-909. According to my local analogue store here in Montreal, the TR-909, SQ-16, and some special Steinberg Cubase maps are the only devices in the world capable of such an accurate timing resolution.
