Okay K - thanks. I've just got Fruityloops, decided after feeling a tad jaded recently that I needed another program to play around with. So there'll probably be one or two tracks done on that and posted later on.

No, they were all done in Orion Pro. I've only just got Fruity, just been messing with it for the last couple of days to see what it can do. Actually I'm quite impressed with it, it's a pity you can only use vst effects and not instruments in it though.

Well, thank you. I'm finding now I can do almost everything in Orion, without any further processing in anything else. Somtimes I might have to reduce the volume a bit in CoolEdit because of clipping, but other than that all the mixing, and everything else can be done very satisfactorily. It's as good as Reason; no better, imo. But I've never found Reason easy to use, so maybe I'm a bit biased anyway.

ima impressed seriously, streaming the whole lot it's a very eclectic album, you've been real busy... i'd love to hear that stream at hi-fi.

The hi-fi versions of those tracks don't actually sound to different from the lo-fi versions. I use mono as an acid test now. If it sounds good in lo-fi, then I know I've got it right. Some of the aliasing can sound a bit iffy in lo-fi, but it just means it needs a bit more mixing to get the frequencies right. I usually end up with two different mixes, the one for lo-fi, and the original hi-fi wave file. I've noticed how sometimes you get unwanted phasing, and perhaps a bit to much hiss on the hats when it's encoded to lo-fi.
