let me just start by saying i think it's hilarious that america has a "war on drugs" AND legal alcohol consumption... this to me is nothing if not a clear sign that the majority of americans are brainless, a classic american attitude -- self-righteousness paired with ignorant hypocrisy. when you don't educate your population, this is what happens... and i'm sure it's what a great many of the powers that be want to happen.

i'm not some idiot, i just think that fighting on ANY side of the "war" does nothing but give credibility to it, instead of exposing it as a pathetic sham.

and yeah, i was just looking at the technosaurus stuff a while ago (the cyclodon's actually what i meant by analogue sequencer, though there are some wicked-ass ones by TBS and analogue solutions... the latter are modulars though so it doesn't look like i'm affording that any time soon)... don't have the cash tho.

in case you didn't understand (i don't want to drag the whole thing into this thread either), i'm not pro-cop (or anti-cop -- you should really visit england and check out their police force... the thing is in the states, it's a different mentality, it's a more market-driven thing, so you get fucking asshole pigs, because if you're not rich you're not a person... that shit doesn't happen (as much) elsewhere because there's more of an infrastructure, a comunity, people treating other people like people. maybe you can't conceive of something like this actually existing, but it does. while you guys were busy trashing the communists, you didn't realize that being stridently anti-socialist also has anti-social repercussions -- when people aren't linked (through taxes or whatever) to each other, its much harder to get them to actually care about each other, cause they're in effect isolated. this is why you're so scared of your cops and need guns to "level" the playing field -- if you weren't all such fucking selfish, "our way is the right way" assholes, this never would have happened... you made your bed and now you're stuck in it.

the reason i have such a problem with it is, as a canadian, i see more and more of your frankly gross attitudes filter up here daily... here in toronto its cutbacks cutbacks cutbacks in terms of government, and we have to do this to compete with your economy because you guys are way more powerful. why? because your government doesn't care about anything but power. there's no community, no support -- it's like sweatshops, unethical and inhumane, but when considered only in terms of the market, very "efficient". then you can undercut your competitor's prices, cause they have much higher overhead costs -- after all, they're supporting the people that work for them, providing an infrastructure, which is expensive.
so to keep from being mexicanized by you fucking ignorant assholes, we have to keep adopting increasingly "american" policies... in ontario, the government's privatizing things left right and center, and as a result everything's going downhill, poverty and crime rises, while the rich get richer.

the solution is not to win any war, but to stop and realize that the problems you and i are encountering are inherent in the system. it's not like revolutions, etc. will ever happen, they don't even need to happen. the only thing necessary to overthrow the current balance of power in the states is education -- if you were all high school honour students, you wouldn't take any of the shit that gets fed to you. frankly i don't see this ever happening, considering you'd all rather just drink beer, get fat and fuck your lives away.

This is one way to forget how to play the piano.I agree with you here almost 100 percent AMERICA SUCKS AND THEY HAVE TRAPPED ME HERE I WANT TO LEAVE.HOWEVER BEING THAT THERE ARE 300 MILLION OF US AREN"T YOU GENARLIZING A BIT.Everybody here doesn't know each other and you have to have the in GOD(freedom of religion)WE TRUST $$$$$$$$$$ to get a quality unbiased(COMMUNISM IS EVIL,MUSLIMS ARE TERRORISTS)education.Much less an education in the arts that have something to do with forward thinking.I fell into the dirty trap our govt has laid for us to fall into (getting caught up in debate instead of coming together to form solutions).Heres a recent example maybe you heard about the so called Algerian Terrorists trying to smuggle explosives across the Canadian/US border BULLSHIT It was an excuse to militarize the border in an effort to stem the flow of high grade canadian bud.Just look at the crossing points(Blaine Wa. and Vermont)watch out for those Algerian Terrorists with lead lined hockey bags full of Blueberry.Mexicanized?sounds racist to me.Better to have a hard working Mexican than a lazey wife beating truck driving gun toting redneck building something. But they should get a competitive wage for it not pennies on the dollar. You think Americans want their jobs sourced out in other countries(fuck no)I don't wear Nike or any other brands that there is more evidence that there was slave labor involved.Americans in general do not listen to reason and I thought you were one of those bastards.I've been mugged and shot at enough to know guns can ruin your day.The guns are sort of like the old COLD WAR THINKING that if both sides can destroy each other nobody makes any sudden moves. Our government is too out of control to be allowed absolute power because they seem to always make laws that are to the benefit of CAPITALISM/PROFIT OVER PEOPLE.Many Americans are not as stupid as we are made out to be but you can't just let GANGSTERS/CAPITALISTS take over. With our history and the choices we have facing us this November it would be ill advised to identify oneself as a student of MARX.You and I both realize that this country is a ticking time bomb and I want out.I sort of have an opp. to move north it all just depends on how hard the CRMP are and the MINISTRY OF IMMIGRATION ARE ON PAPERWORK HELP ME ESCAPE PLEASE.If you have the med card and a birth reg. Is that enough? I realize CANADA is my only hope for freedom and peace of mind Knowing that i won't have to deal w/ these bastards that surround me everywhere I go.Help me and I'll show you all you wan't to know about tekno.

mexicanized referred to the "free trade" thing... you really think their economy would have collapsed without the help of big business?
seriously, no hard feelings, i'll smoke you a fat one if you make it up here... don't think i can really help you with that though, don't exactly have inside connectiont to the underground railroad or anything...
anyway, i think i've learnt enough in my few years of post-guitar electronic producition to know that nothing you could tell me beyond the very basics is gonna help me learn/progress, cause i need to find my own personal style, and when i do i know i'll be able to take it somewhere... well maybe hope's a better word.
p.s - yeah, everytime i see anything about your elections i just feel genuinely sad, because i really can't beleive those two morons are the only options available. it's frankly one of the more depressing thoughts to dwell on, cause is it ever gonna get better?

For me theres a lot more to acid lines than 303,when I think of acid lines(in my old style of music anyway)I think of a deep low bass gargling sound that sits really deeply into the track, that the listener becomes so accustomed to it that he/she doesen't even notice it after a while. The old 303 hardfloor style thing has defenitly had its day but used the in the right ways you can do some amazing tracks with it,just listen to that pump panel remix that features on the Blade soundtrack, its just an acid line and a 909 and its one of the most powerfull tunes i've ever heard(I know a lot of people are gonna disagree).Innovate don't immitate :+)=

i can get the paper work I just need to know what the average canadian keeps around for ID.For example every Amerikkkan usually has A birth certificate,a social security card and an ID or Drivers license. What forms are the normz?I hope you have no hard feelings toward me either, you see I'm a bit passionate about issues that sort of affect me in my everyday life. Also the standard arsenal for an acid exploration old skool style would be 909,303,202,&a 101 you could pretty much cover the basics w/ that.An 808 would be cooler than a 909 cause you could get funky and all electro and shit.At least these items would be my HOLY GRAIL.I personally use an all analog rig minus the samplers, mpc&my electribe EA-1
of course. The Acid talk is usually over in 303 chat.Let's keep the politrix off those threadz though

i've got birth cert., drivers lic., soc.sec., and (welcome to canada) health card.
o/d, totally, i remember on this tune, um... fuck, i don't know, "acid wiss '1'" or something, DJ ____ (i forget, sorry), fairly lo-tek track, but there was just this amazing superlow pulsing... it could have been anything, just really deep and dark, with that slight hi-end bite that makes it noticable....
anyway, my kit right now is 3 12bits(w30, tx16w X2), a crap-ass 303 clone (the MAM/FAT one... not really good for 303, but still useful i guess.), a korg polysix, and SCI split-8... i'm not just doing acid (otherwise i would've probably tried for something x0x), but i was wondering if anyone had tips, just in terms of patch programming and stuff... i'm not a beginner or anything, and i sort of know what i'm doing in other styles, but acid is something i've always loved but been too scared of to try (all my attempts thus far have lacked the driving-urgent necessity, darkness too...)

anyway thanks

wow ......just wanted some help with acid patterns and I sparked off a riot.....But it is an interseting one I think H hit the nail on the head $$$$$$$ God money bow to the almighty dollar I'll suck it good then bend over and take it in the rear .....just as long as I'm well paid for it.......I pledge alligance to the dollar of the untid states of america and to the greed for which it stands one nation under hate with stock options and predujice for all Amen. the only reason pot is illegal is because the alcohol companys (anhiser bush etc.) line the pockets of our politicians if weed was legal they would loose millions
ciggaretts are leaga for the same reason It's alright that I've been hooked on the cancer sticks since I was 14 but god forbid I smoke a doobie in the privacy of my own home. I haven't smoked in 2 months because I have a random drug test at work sometime in the next 2 months. It makes me sick I could write a friggen book about the bullshit the us govt. feeds us.......Oh and by the way it's just not as much fun making music with out the green stuff......I liked to come home after work smoke a joint and bang on the keyboard......I am a bad criminal I know a very bad man a menace to socioty I should be out and the bar in my flannel shirt rocking out to country and western drinking myself stupid swerving my way home to beat my wife (if I don't kill someone on the way) God bless America
peace to y'all
By the way Iv'e ended up with some good acid lines by plugging my drum patterns into synth parts
