01-Oct-10 - Touched By Fire

"Touched With Fire" is the latest album from critically acclaimed british band COMEG.
It has been four years since the band's last release "One Day" due to vocalist Coemgen Savage's diagnosis of and battle with Bi Polar,(formerly known as "manic depression") a serious mood disorder which has afflicted many people in the public eye, including such celebrities as Kurt Cobain, Axel Rose and of course Stephen Fry. Difficulties controlling his mood swings and adjusting to medication prevented him from being able to function, let alone write.
Now thankfully relatively stable, and once again able to access his creativity, Coemgen has put together what he considers to be his "Best work ever" in the form of a polished 9 track album which Coemgen says was inspired by his struggle to live with his condition. The striking album cover will be very familiar to anyone who has knowledge or experience of mental illness and the album's title is also a name of a well known book written about the subject.

05-Feb-06 - NEWS ITEM TITLE
Big change in the camp. are; is; now a solo project. Coemgen Savage (Comeg to those who know him) will now be writing, performing and producing all of his own material. It is something that has been on the cards for a while now, and it was either that or the whole thing coming to an untimely end. Coemgen had always done the lion's share of the bands material anyway; writing, performing, producing and at times playing all of the instruments on a track; with Giles Hancock providing his guitar skills as well as co-writing some of the songs. So as far as listeners are concerned you should not notice any significant difference in the sound.
As for the new album, it will still be released by the end of February 06', but it will be a solo album. Coemgen was the sole writer and performer on the majority of the new album's tracks and any collaborations have still to be completed. So only Coemgen's finished tracks will be released. And although it will be a thirteen track album rather than the possibly over sized, twenty track double album; it will be a more streamlined, cohesive and focused piece of work. And of course the best yet, as has always been the case.
The band still remain good friends; and although is now strictly a solo artist; I am certain that the other band members will be involved with various aspects of the new music from time to time, whether helping out or in an advisory role.
