10-Sep-12 - Wave Alchemy Releases Bass Pedals
Wave Alchemy has released Bass Pedals for Kontakt 4+ (and above).
Bass Pedals is powered by over 3200 multi-sampled sounds, driven by a custom scripted Kontakt 4 engine.
Inspired by the Moog Taurus Mk1 bass synthesizer, Bass Pedals combines analogue source sounds with modern sound shaping capabilities to create a versatile and fully programmable bass synthesizer.
The instrument itself features 4 edit pages:
1.The preset page is able to load 28 multi-sampled patches designed and recorded from a vintage Moog Taurus MK1 bass synthesizer. All preset patches boast 3 x round robin sound variations and long samples to help capture the imperfections of the original instrument. Sounds from this page can be further edited and mixed with Bass Pedals' 'raw oscillators' (see below) to create 'hybrid' patches.
2.The user can synthesize their own 'Taurus like' sounds using Bass Pedals' raw oscillator page… Raw mode boasts 2 analogue oscillators (each with switchable saturated waveforms courtesy of an Empirical Labs Fatso), 1 switchable sub oscillator, noise source, and oscillator unison modes, all of which are individually powered by a set of carefully looped waveforms recorded from a Taurus MK1 analogue bass synthesizer.
3.The effects page boasts a number of editable effects as well as specially created reverb IR's (Impulse Responses) recorded from our Eventide DSP-7000 Harmonizer.
4.The controls page gives the user control over the instruments mono mode with selectable note priorities, portamento, pitch bend range, keyboard velocity and curve response.

606 Drums by Wave Alchemy serves up 290 drum samples from Roland’s sought-after TR-606 drum machine. The samples included have been lovingly recorded through an API pre-amp with many sounds boasting multiple round robin variations, accent and velocity layers!
606 Drums contains four pre-mapped drum kit patches for use with Kontakt 2, 3, & 4 and Battery 3. Each kit makes extensive use of multiple velocity layers, round robin sample playback techniques and choke groups to create truly expressive sample instruments.
The Kits
Driven Kit – Includes 41 TR-606 drum samples which have been recorded and processed through a Thermionic Culture Vulture MV to give a harmonically rich and extremely colourful sound. This kit includes 5 round robin samples per sound.
Dry Kit – includes a whooping 168 TR-606 drum samples which have been recorded clean through an API 512c pre-amp. This kit has been recorded in 96K, 24-bit and includes 8 round robin samples per sound as well as 3 accent / velocity layers per hit!
Stereo FX Kit – Includes 41 TR-606 drum samples which have been recorded and abused through a Moog Voyager’s stereo filtering capabilities whilst being controlled by a ton of MoogerFoogers and various other CV gear! This kit sounds almost totally unrecognisable to the true TR-606 sound…
Warm Kit – includes 40 TR-606 drum samples which have been treated to generous amounts of vintage compression, EQ and saturation from a range of Wave Alchemy’s extensive outboard collection! This kit includes 5 round robin samples per sound.
