 Everyday I Have The Blues

This recording is a tribute to Muddy Waters, Albert King, Freddie King, B.B. King, Jimmy Rogers, Buddy Guy, Albert Collins, T-Bone Walker, Howlin’ Wolf, Bo Diddley, The Allman Brothers, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Eric Clapton, Elmore James, Hubert Sumlin, Herman “Alabama” Alexander, Magic Sam, Luther “Guitar Jr.” Johnson, Lowell Fulson, Z.Z. Hill, Guitar Shorty, and all electric blues players past and present.

All of these blues players emphasize “being real” in the blues they play. Technology advancements have led to a loss of realism in much of today’s music. In keeping with the “being real” tradition of the blues, this CD “Live! Out of the Ordinary” was recorded completely live using only 2 microphones located amongst the audience. Purposely “low-tech”, there are no over dubs, no multi-tracking, and no studio tricks. What you hear on this CD is precisely what the audience heard with the entire ambiance of a blues club included. It is the real deal! The performances of the 12 blues classics on this CD were taken from 2 shows recorded on March 5, 2005 and April 16, 2005 at the original “Ordinary” club in Clarksburg, WV.

Come on into the club; order your favorite beverage and grab a seat. The band is ready to play.

Fan Reviews:

"I am listening and it is Freaking Awesome." -- Kyndmamma, Jammin On the Hill DJ at WMHB Radio

Reviewer: Michael Canfield --Kick ass blues-- I put this CD on with my Clapton Blues CDs. Hard to tell one from the other. Passion in the guitar and vocals. Like I said Kick ass blues. BUY IT

Reviewer: Mark Testman --If you like your Blues with a rock edge ... buy this CD-- As a Blues fan that subscribed to XM radio just for the Bluesville channel, I find the mix of Rock'n blues on this CD right up my alley ... the best Blues CD in my collection. Yes, West Virginia Blues and the DMBB is Out of the Ordinary!

Reviewer: Matt Goodfellow --Best Live Blues CD Ever-- This CD is by far the Best Blues CD ever. I personally think it is the best live CD I have ever listened to. It is 100% real just like it sounds if you were sitting at the bar. If you don't find yourself turning up the volume you just might be dead!!!!

Reviewer: Glenn Lloyd --Blues Monster!-- Dennis McClung is a blues monster. SRV would be eating this sh** up with a spoon.

Reviewer: Tim Birch --Played with the passion blues are meant to have!-- Dennis McClung and his boys get it... They give the music a soul and leave you wanting more.. I can't believe West Virginia has such authentic and talented musicians.. If you love the blues you have to hear this cd.. It rarely leaves my player... AWESOME !!!

Reviewer: Leigh Cagan --Ripping live blues show from a hugely talented band-- This new live show covers classics and has a great flow to it, really building in intensity in the second half of the disc. Dennis McClung's vocals and lead guitar work are outstanding, as are the keyboard and rhythm section of the band. Captured with just two microphones out in the club where it was recorded, the sound here is authentic and the listening experience is absorbing from start to finish. This live recording is a great complement to their tremendous debut studio disc, which is also available from CD Baby (and I recommend just as highly!).

Reviewer: James Metz --Whoa! What a blues band!-- Dear Blues Lovers, I have been a blues guitarist for nearly 30 years. Over those years, I've had the opportunity to play with some well-known blues artists. Recently, I purchased a live CD entitled "Live! Out of the Ordinary." by The Dennis McClung Blues Band and was astounded by the passion and fury by this guitarist/singer. I truly believe it is one of best live performances ever captured. I decided to explore the matter further, and take a trip to see the band live. I stood there, "shell-shocked," after just a few numbers because words cannot convey how amazing McClung is. As the show progressed, the intensity just kept growing and growing. Finally, on B.B. King's "How Blue Can You Get?" I swear to God, I thought the roof would blow right off the joint. I am passing along all of this information in hopes all blues lovers will explore this artist and discover my claims are true. He is what the blues world is looking for. You now have the opportunity to claim "bragging-rights" to your friends by discovering him first. For more infromation, visit www.dennismcclung.com. Tell them Bo sent you.

Reviewer: crawlinkingsnake --CLASSIC BLUES, start to finish!-- Great job of "capturing the moment" which is something that all blues fans love to hear and be witness to. Linny and Jason are awesome with their timing on drums and bass. Always "in the pocket" through out the entire CD. Really enjoyed Randys' piano on "Rock This House" and "Look On Yonder Wall". Dennis' guitar and vocals shine on "How Blue Can You Get" and "Everyday I Have The Blues" but, my favorite, after listening to the CD everyday for a week, is still the same from the first time I heard it. In my humble opinion, the entire band put it all togeather on trac #6. "Jelly, Jelly" is great from beginning to end. But wait, that's the case with the entire CD. CLASSIC BLUES, start to finish!
