Caballeros Con Descuento
is a sound system (digital audio, voice, guitar, percussion + guest musicians) by Christian Bocon, Turby Schmidt and David Rodríguez.
For this project, the trio adapts and interprets harmonies and structures from the traditional styles of Latin American folk music, like Cumbia, and combines them with poetry, technology, and contemporary sounds in a blend of Latin, Pop, Electro beats that ignite a new category: "Trip-Hop cumbiero".
David [Black D] Rodríguez: lyrics, percussion and lead singer has roots that go back generations in a family of Tango and traditional folkloric performers.
Turby Schmidt, producer and engineer began his musical career as a House + Techno DJ. He produced Nobadimi [electrónic Tango] next to Sami Abadi and is part of the Techno-Duo SysExRockers with Francisco Di Gianni [www.sysexrockers.oilpatch.com].
He published several tracks as "Midinovela" @ Ware in Germany[www.ware-net.de], Nobadimi is published by the art magazine Zona de Obras [Madrid] and SysExRockers published by Club Rayo Disquetes.
Christian Bocon, co-producer, guitar and mentor of the project has played Funk, Disco, Folklore and Tango in different bands like Milonga City [Finalist of the contest Ahora las bandas] and Donna Star. He has been session performer of a number of productions and is currently in charge of operating and selecting the music for Gourmet.com

I heard a song by Caballeros con Descuento ..and they rocked.
Their sound seems to be playing with the bizarre side of Cumbia and the vanguard side of electronics with a hip-hop influence that can also be heard. The esthetics of their proposal is a real novelty and is really interesting. A certain parallelism can be drawn with the twist toward hip-hop a part of vanguard electronic performers have been experiencing lately.
This must be one of the only true underground movements (known by only a few and in the real vanguards) existing today in Buenos Aires.
I sure bet on them.

es un sistema de sonido [audio digital, voz, guitarra, percusion mas musicos invitados] formado por Christian Bocon, Turby Schmidt y David Rodríguez. Me parece que juegan con el costado bizarro de la cumbia y el vanguardista de la electrónica. También se notan influencias hip hoperas. La estética que terminan manejando es muy novedosa y más que interesante. Le encuentro cierto paralelismo con un vire que se fue dando en el último tiempo hacia el hip hop de una parte de la electrónica de vanguardia ..
Creo que debe ser uno de los únicos movimientos realmente underground (conocido por pocos y vanguardista) que hay hoy por hoy en buenos aires.
