My sound features aggressive drums and driving synths, a melancholy arrangement of mechanical rhythms. Groovy bass and relentless vibes dominate the dance floors I helm.

My music is built upon these ideas:

Balance is the key to every component, every sound, every beat or stab of my music. Its importance cannot be stressed more. Moderation exists, as it is danceable, yet intelligent; formulaic, yet innovative; disconnected, yet accessible. This moderation helps me appeal to a broader audience than the typical techno act, running only for an experimental or a dance crowd. My job as a purveyor of techno is to be innovative and forward thinking, but only so you couldn’t tell the difference, too often great techno has been lost in self-absorption and great innovation been lost to overdone experimentalism.

Underneath the sound, it is principle where my music finds its origins, but part of how my concepts interact with my music is that they are tertiary, my music is decidedly dance floor oriented. To me, concepts should never interfere with the strengths of the music. A concept you cannot morph into an appealing interesting sound is one not worth having. My effort to be not one thing, but many all at once has allowed me to craft a unique approach and sensibility. My product is a craft of seeming contradiction, wrapped up in layers of style. Intelligent cyber-disco, music for machines with emotional problems.

The most prominent and consistent concept in my music is reconstruction. Especially during LivePA, my music is loop and rhythmically based. I take few parts and reconstruct them constantly to generate a larger number of vastly unique arrangements. Techno’s aesthetic qualities like polyrhythms and timbre only accentuate this highly effective idea.

As a LivePA, I am a software/hardware hybrid. This allows me to utilize the versatility of extensive software sampling, giving me wide access to numerous sound sources and effects, and the straightforward power of dedicated hardware. I advocate gear economy and like to be efficient as well as effective. Additionally I use hardware MIDI controllers to give my software the tactile connection it needs in order to be utilized correctly.

As a musician who’s founding artistic principle is balance, the truest example of balance is a mathematic one. The name ‘Decimal’ stems from this. The decimal system is a ten numeral system, of which any other huge numbers can be reconstructed using only these few numeral. The infinite is defined by the finite. Balance
