Brent Roberts   -   details

Upstart DJ Brent Roberts’ love of music began more than a decade ago; originally in a music education course for 8 years as part of his grade schooling, Roberts had an awakening after listening to BT’s IMA. He began a new life, literally.

“All these new sounds started a passion inside of me”, Roberts adds, “I heard all this music that I was blind to earlier, and I knew it was time for a change”. After a break-up, and a total revamp of his CD selection, Roberts bought a Pioneer DJM-600, 2 Technics M3’s, and a Korgg Kaos pad. Roberts’ passion is ignited, “I heard something that changed my life” Roberts beams “I decided that my life had to have some deep involvement w/ this music, and I thank my ex girlfriend for that.” So does everyone who hears him.

After only mixing for 6 months, Roberts released his first album “Motion,” which landed him a signing with Jomama Productions, as well as sending his name out as far as New York, Chicago, etc… “Motion” is an album of unbelievable mixes and phenomenal beats. “Music isn’t something that you listen to, its something that you feel inside”, Roberts says. Brent’s sophomore effort “Knightfall” is a perfect example of his variety in music. Providing mixes that are mellower and its deep house groove is perfect for getting ready to party the night away. “I’ve always respected the phrase, “if life is a game, play it to win””, Roberts mentions, “if you’re not passionate about what you do, then don’t do it”.

With the full force of a hurricane, Roberts’ career is soaring, w/ less than 3 years under his belt, he has landed a residency at Cincinnati’s premier nightclub, Spy Club (Thurs. – Sat.)(Chris Fortier, D:Fuse, Christopher Lawrence, etc..); Landed 3rd place in Bacardi’s Bacardi DJ/Producer Competition, and with his third album “Style” set to be finished by the end of this year, Roberts is primed to take the world by storm. “I remember being made fun of for being in the music program at my grade school when I was growing up.” Roberts adds, “Little did I know that all those years of music class would prove to be priceless down the road”. From writing music to mixing, Brent Roberts is here to stay. “I want to be doing this for the rest of my days,” and all signs say he will.
