Simon's inspiration and drive to make music was born out of the Underground
Dance Music scene that kicked off in 1988. Elated, he began DJ-ing and
making music; from Minimalist-techno to Electro, Old School, Trance,
Industrial, Heavy Techno and Drum n' Bass. In 1997, he was awarded an HND in
Sound Engineering at the City of Westminster College, following the completion of a 4-year
intensive course.
His domination of rhythm, sound and structure were first demonstrated when,
as co-member of heavy-techno partnership "Shock to the System", Simon's
character, and manipulation of sound and structure, have meant there are
many surprises for the listener along the way..
Martin Gifford - Sound Engineer / Musician
In 1995, Martin decided to follow his urge to develop his own form of
self-expression, and having just discovered Dance music, bought a computer
and Synthesizer to write down his ideas. Since then, he has been steadily
building up his Music Studio and developing his own Style. This has
contributed hugely to the achievement of loose, free, Dark-like melody's
that is evident in Shock To The System's Tunes.
Simon and Martin have released 16 tunes that 's achieved great Undergroundsuccess Worldwide
under the name of Shock To The System .
