Shaun Reeder is a Christian, reclaimed from a lifestyle that definitely was not.
His original, guitar-based music speaks, cries and wails from that real place where God's Spirit meets human soul and emotion:
"I'd call my music Honest-to-God really," Shaun says. "I can be thanking Jesus one day for His promise never to leave me...yet on another, I'll be crying out like the Psalmist, hanging on by my fingernails!"
"My music works as a sort of worship where I don't have the words; yes, I know God sometimes speaks to people through it but I believe it is not just for the Holy Huddle but for everyone...liking the elctric guitar helps, though!"
The clips you hear here are just from 3 recent songs. The full versions will be available soon, along with others, as we do the final mastering tweaks: full details will be posted here and at Shaun's photography site(Shaun Reeder is a photographer as well: view his gallery at the address above)
This combined output of music and photography is from Doverow Studios; please see below for Kitlist Details, for those interested.
Kitlist details
The clips heard on this site are from full-length, original tracks.
Though he has several guitars, the ones used on the songs here are both stratocasters: a Japanese 1968RI and a 2007 US Deluxe.
Recording and sequencing was done in Sonar via an M-Audio Delta66, with guitars going through a PodXT and a Morley Pro Wah/Volume.
Shaun's bass is a Status Graphite S2 Classic 5-string; it was recorded via a Sansamp Bass Driver D.I. All keyboards and string arrangments are via an Edirol keyboard triggering Sonar's softsynths, NI Kompakt and Cakewalk Dimension Pro.
All tracks were recorded and mastered at 24/96, then dithered externally with R8brain; conversions to mp3 were done in Audacity.
