Scratch_Eddie isn't really a DJ, he uses too many different utensils to create his free flowing sonic bricollage... He prefers to think of himself as a sonic manipulator. Yes he uses turntables and headphones, but only as a foundation for soundscapes that encompass live instrumentation (he often integrates live flute and guitar playing into his 'sets'), laptop wizardy, a plethora of effects units and scratching.
Having said that, he likes many well recognised genres and often mixes up bits of micro-house, dubstep, grimey garage, jungle, DnB, gabba and other obscure musical forms... He just does it in a slightly more interesting and ornate manner than most DJs (who may as well be organic jukeboxes). Intelligent Dance Music? Not likely! Pretentious Party Bashment? Perhaps...
Peace (but not Quiet)
