Ted Laderas (M-Roshi) lives in Portland OR, and does lung research for a living. In 1994, a DJ friend brought over some of the first Jungle records he'd ever heard (a Plug EP and an obscure group called Spidernet) which lit a fuse in his head which didn't fully detonate until three years later, when he released his first cassette of songs, appropriately titled Ted's Demo Tape. Produced with just a crappy desktop computer and a copy of the music tracking program Jeskola Buzz, it set the tone for later works, remixing samples of Erik Satie into electro Jungle, with side excursions into dub. Rhythmically adventurous but with a belief that a good melody is never wasted, his later efforts involved simulating a braking train singing, abstract hiphop kungfu battles (complete with Dragonball Z samples), and an ambient album of short improvisational tracks designed to be played at random play, Acme. He is currently playing in a experimental/house duo called Mr. Sparkle with his best friend from first grade.
