Born in and raised in Modesto California.BIGCHILL was raised by his single mother, older sister and the streets of West Side Modesto. He was forced to spend most of his teenage years in and out of Juvenile Hall and C.Y.A. all of which would later play a big part in his story telling later in life.BIGCHILL started listening to rap as early as he can remember hearing it and has since been influenced by such pioneers from RUN D.M.C,Public Enemy,Slick Rick and U.T.F.O to N.W.A,Too Short,DJ Quik and E-40 and THE CLICK.By the age of twelve,he picked up the mic himself and began to tell his story. Now,BIGCHILL Artist/Producer emerges with a old school sound with a new school twist that he calls "THROW BACK MUSIC" that is heavily influenced by his mixture of different East & West coast artist.BIGCHILL got his name from his friends in the streets because he was so laid back, cool and calm."Most of the time I'm laid back and always thinking to myself about what kind of beat or song i'm going to do next.I always try to keep my music creative and different from the other artist.when they (popular rappers) go right,i go left. When they go left,i go right.I try to keep my songs hitting with that golden era sound but at the same time keep it new with a future twist."His songs combine hardcore lyrics with an ability to tell experiences in his life.BIGCHILL also describes his writing style "story telling, sometimes a funny story for people to laugh at,or sometimes i might tell a story that will make you get serious and think about a lot of things in life."BIGCHILL was left to do a solo project while his cousin of his group (BIG HOUSE) was in the Penitentiary doing a 10 year bid.BIGCHILL felt the responsibility of holding it down for the group. And for many years he has done just that.
