Mission Statement

The first purpose of this collective is to help individual artists and electronic musicians promote their talents, and enjoy each others' works. The second purpose is to provide venues for the creation of collaborative multimedia works involving many talented musicians and artists.

Think of a Tech:gnosis event as being the critical mass of all of the musical and artistic disciplines we have been absorbing, learning and running between all of our lives. An artistic Apex that reveals only the tiniest bit of the whole, but contains splinters and fragments of all of the individual elements that make us whole as visual artists and musicians.

Typically a Tech:gnosis event will begin with each artist showcasing their work. Visual artists through gallery showing, and musicians through showcasing their own compositions. After each musician has completed their set, we move on to the collaboritive stage of the evening. It is at this point that all participating musicians patch their instruments together into one large ensemble (a sort of electroacoustic orchestra per-se). Visual artists then feed off of the collaborative musical improv, and vice versa. This loop of creative feedback between artists and musicians is the true meaning of techgnosis. It is this process that will enable us to create brave new sights and sounds.
