Jan Castellari is from the South-west of England, musically influenced by blues and folk music played by his father, he developed his own style that focused on the lyric of the song, mainly drawing from experiences gained in life. At the age of 19 he immigrated to Australia, leaving behind his family to start his own journey and life.
