RE: setting up a pc for serato
omg! hey Jack, hows it?
er, tbh, disabling stuff apart from disabling windows updates and remote assistance doesnt really do alot contrary to rumour. That's all left-over stuff from the dreaded days of WIN98 tbh - the bios has stuff which potentialy needs switchin off, but that depends on whether u have an added soundcard or use the onboard sound in/out
usualy i'll set an XP machine into - control-panel/system/advanced/performance/settings-button
advanced-tab
set 'processor-scheduling' from 'programmes' to 'background-services'
apart from that tbh, there's very little else that makes any real difference to performance
u got this machine online? (even if it aint gonna be online when it's done) cos if u do, i can connect to it and set things.
anyways, good to see you mate.

I had an idea for a script once. It's basically Jaws except when the guys in the boat are going after Jaws, they look around and there's an even bigger Jaws. The guys have to team up with Jaws to get Bigger Jaws.... I call it... Big Jaws!!!
